Jhargram is a district in the state of West Bengal, India. The district is situated between the Kangsabati River in the north and Subarnarekha in the south.  Chilkigarh Rajbari The district was formed on 4 April 2017 after bifurcation from Paschim Medinipur district as the 22nd district of West Bengal. The district headquarter is located at Jhargram city. It comes under the Medinipur division. Jhargram district is a part of the Chota Nagpur Plateau.  Jhargram is also known for its traditional dances like Chuang, Chang, Chhau, Dangre, Jhumur, Punta, Ranpa, Sahrul, Tusu and Bhadu. Jhargram District consists of 8 Community Development Blocks, 8 Panchayat Samitis, 79 Gram Panchayats.  Jhargram, Jamboni, Binpur-I, Binpur-II, Gopiballavpur-I, Gopiballavpur-II, Sankrail and Nayagram are the blocks of the district. Population As of the 2011 Indian census, Jhargram district had a population of 1,136,548. J
