Rudraprayag is a district in the state of Uttarakhand in North India. The district headquarters is located in the city of Rudraprayag. The district was formed on 16 September 1997.  Rudraprayag is also among the “ Panch Prayagas ”. You can see the natural beauty in the district. The district has many Surrey places of spiritual importance, beautiful lakes and glaciers. It is named after the Rudra avatar of Lord Shiva, Rudraprayag is considered the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. Rudraprayag is also known as the last stopping point before the pilgrimage to Kedarnath and Badrinath. Area of Rudraprayag District Rudraprayag district is spread over an area of ​​2439 sq km. It shares its borders with the districts of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pauri Garhwal and Tehri Garhwal. The district has 4 tehsils, 339 gram panchayats and 679 villages.
