Matheran : Treasure of Natural Beauty | Places to visit in Maharashtra

If you are planning to visit Maharashtra during the holidays, then go to visit Matheran once. I have visited many cities and hill stations of Maharashtra, but Matheran is the most different. After coming here, you will feel immense happiness. I traveled here last year and I am sharing my experiences and experiences related to it. I started my journey from Chandigarh and my first stop was Mumbai city in Maharashtra.

I looked closely at Mumbai city in my journal and realized the lifestyle here which I will describe to you in the Next Blog. After seeing the world of Mumbai, I felt that some time should be spent in a fine environment. Then I started searching whether there is any hill station around Mumbai where I can spend a relaxed moment. While searching, I came to know about Matheran and planned to roam there once.

Matheran Hill Station is at a distance of about 131 KM from Mumbai which located in the Raigad district. It took me 3 hours to get there because of the high traffic in Mumbai. The journey to Matheran Hill Station was a very interesting and entertaining experience. After arriving here, it felt as if I had come into a dream world. If truth be told, it is nothing less than a paradise for nature lovers. The natural beauty here will overwhelm you. It is the only hill station where entry of vehicles is prohibited. It is situated at an altitude of about 800 meters above sea level.

There are 38 such points where you can capture the beauty of nature in your eyes. Apart from this, Mount Berry and Charlott Lake are also the main attractions here. Many beautiful scenes can be seen during the journey by toy train from Neral to Matheran. The view of the train from the middle of the greenery on the mountains makes it truly delightful. Tourists come from far and wide to get the thrill of crossing the valley by rope at the honeymoon point.

Many beautiful views can be enjoyed during a two and a half hour journey by sitting in a toy train on the mountains. You can make your trip memorable by sitting on a small train and watching the beauty of the hills up close. You will not have any problem moving around because of the language because people here speak and understand Marathi, Hindi and English very well.

Best time to visit Matheran

The best time to visit Matheran is in the months of October to May.

How to reach:

Airway

If you want to reach Matheran by air, then you must first come to Mumbai or Pune airport, after that you can reach Matheran by taxi or bus.

Railway

You can also go to Matheran toy train. Toy train booking is from Neral railway station. Neral railway station is on the Mumbai Pune line.

Roadways

Matheran is connected by road to all the main sites of Mumbai. It is at a distance of 21 km from Neral, 131 km from Mumbai and  144 km from Pune.
