Solapur District is a district in the state of Maharashtra, India. The district is headquartered in Solapur city and comes under the Pune division. 'SOLAPUR' is made up of a combination of two words 'SOLA' which means "sixteen" and "PUR" means "village". 


District Solapur is famous for its bed sheets, handloom, and power loom industry. It is one of the important districts in the state of Maharashtra. Solapur is an ideal destination for spiritual discovery. The beautiful and serene environment of Solapur attracts tourists from all over the country.
