Hamirpur district is one of the twelve districts in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. The district is headquartered in the city of Hamirpur. The district has an area of 1,118 square kilometers. It is the smallest district of Himachal Pradesh. It is also known as "Martyr Land".
It is the most educated district of Himachal. It was carved out of Kangra district in 1972 to form a new district. It shares borders with Mandi, Bilaspur, Una and Kangra.
The Beas, Maan Khud and the Kunah rivers pass through the district. Cedar forests are quite large in Hamirpur district. Hamirpur is also known for mango fruits.
