Una District Information

Una is a district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Una city is the district headquarters. Una shares its border with Hoshiarpur and Rupnagar districts of Punjab and Kangra, Hamirpur and Bilaspur districts of Himachal Pradesh. Una is emerging as an industrial hub. The total area of ??the district is about 1,549 km2. The district was formed on 1 September 1972.




There are five tehsils of Una district, Ghanari, Haroli, Amb, Bangana and Una. Una is situated in the foothills of the Himalayas. It is a city of sacred temples. It is known all over the country for its temple Mata Chintpurni Temple, people from all over the world come to visit Mata. According to the 2011 census, Una district had a population of 5,21,057. Those districts have a sex ratio of 977 females for every 1000 males, and a literacy rate of 87.23%. Agriculture is the main source of livelihood in Una district.
