Meerut city is a historical and ancient city, which is mentioned in Mahabharata and many mythological texts.


According to the Hindu epics Ramayana and Mahabharata, this city was established by a demon named Mat in Treta Yuga. That is why at that time this city was known as Mayrashtra. Aughadnath Temple

Shapir is a Dargah situated in Meerut, which is famous among tourists from a tourism point of view. This Dargah was built by Queen Noorjahan during the Mughal period in 1628 AD. This Dargah is dedicated to Hazrat Shah Pir, the teacher of Jahangir, who was also the advisor of Queen Noor Jahan. The monument is made of red stone, around which there are four pillars. A very beautiful view arises here at the time of sunset. The lush green trees and plants surrounding the monument create a picturesque view, which attracts tourists.
