Bhiwani
Bhiwani district is one of the 22 districts of the northern Indian state of Haryana. The district was formed on 22 December 1972. It was separated from Charkhi Dadri to form a new district. District Bhiwani comes under Hisar division. Bhiwani is also called the "gateway to Rajputana" It is also a center of spiritual education and politics. It is located 128 km west of the national capital New Delhi. The district headquarters is situated in the city of Bhiwani.

The district is named after its headquarters, the city of Bhiwani. It is believed that the city of Bhiwani was founded by a Rajput named Neem Singh after his wife Bhani. The name Bhani later changed to Bhiyani and was later made Bhiwani on 22 December 1972, which was the center of regional politics and the hometown of three former chief ministers of Haryana: Bansilal, Banarasi Das Gupta and Hukum Singh. People also call it Chhoti Kashi because you will see temples in every second or third street.

Area
The district covers an area of 4,778 sq km. Bhiwani, Loharu, Siwani, Bawani Khera and Tosham are tehsils of the district. The district has five assembly constituencies: Bhiwani, Loharu, Bawani Khera, Tosham and Bawani Khera. Bawani is part of Khera Hisar (Lok Sabha constituency) while Bhiwani-Mahendragarh (Lok Sabha constituency).
Population
According to the 2011 census, the population of Bhiwani district is 16,34,4 Bhiwani has a sex ratio of 884 females for every 1000 males. Haryanvi is the first major language of the district.
Economy
The economy of the district is mainly based on agriculture. The major crops of the district are cotton, paddy, gram and mustard.
Education
The literacy rate of the district is 76.7%. Adarsh Mahila College, Rajiv Gandhi Mahila College, Raja Neempal Singh Government College, Vaishya P.G. College, BRCM College of Engineering, Technological Institute of Textiles and Sciences and Chaudhary Bansilal University are some of the best teaching institutions in the district.

By rail
Bhiwani Junction is connected to a good railway network. Kisan Express, Garib Rath Express are some of the trains that stop at this junction.

Bhiwani is on National Highway No. 18 and has excellent bus connections to all cities and towns in neighboring states. Haryana Roadways buses pass through Bhiwani.
