Free Boarding School

In our country, Navodaya Vidyalayas are present all over the country as free boarding schools. In these schools, along with free education, facilities of accommodation, food, books etc. are also provided. These schools are operated under the Ministry of Education of the Government of India. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) is organized every year for admission in these schools.

There are lakhs of families across the country who are unable to arrange a better budget for the education of their children. You can get admission in class 6th and 9th

Admission is given in class 6th and 9th in Navodaya Vidyalaya present across the country. Apart from this, admission is also provided in 11th. All these schools are boarding and no fee is required to study in them. However, a very low fee is charged in the name of Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi for class 9 to class 12.

How to get admission

Admission in NVS is done through entrance exam. Every year Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti organizes Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST). The merit of the students is prepared on the basis of their performance in this entrance exam. The students whose name is recorded in this list are given admission in the boarding school.

What should be the age

For admission in class 6 in boarding school, the candidate should have passed 5th standard and should be between 10 to 12 years of age. For admission in class 9th, the candidate should have passed 8th standard and should be between 13 to 15 years of age. For admission in class 11th, the candidate should have passed 10th standard and should be between 15 to 17 years of age.
