Under the scheme, internship allowance of ₹ 5000 will be available every month

One crore youth of the country will be provided benefits through PM Internship Yojana. The main objective behind starting this scheme is to reduce unemployment and provide employment opportunities to the youth. Under this scheme, an internship allowance of Rs 5000 will also be given every month. Under the same scheme, a lump sum assistance of ₹ 6000 will also be available. The duration of the first phase of PM Internship Scheme will be 2 years, while the duration of the second phase will be 3 years. Under this scheme, the companies will bear the cost of training the youth and 10 percent of the cost of internship will be spent from their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund.

Eligibility required for the scheme

• The applicant must be a citizen of India.
• Boys and girls above 21 years of age will be eligible for this scheme.
• Only those people between the ages of 21 and 24 who are not in a job or are not involved in full-time education can apply.
• The applicant will have to spend at least half the time in a job environment.
• Candidates who have received education from Indian Institute of Technology, Indian Institute of Management, and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research will not be eligible to apply for this scheme.
