Mahendragarh
Mahendragarh district is one of the 22 districts of Haryana state in northern India. The name of the district is derived from the town of Mahendragarh, which was earlier known as Kanaud. This previous name of the place was derived from the Kanodia group of Brahmins. In the year 1948, Mahendragarh emerged as a separate district by merging various areas of the erstwhile princely states such as Narnaul and Mahendragarh tehsils from Patiala State, Dadri from Jind State and a part of Bawal Nizamat from Nabha State.
