The impact of the storm Yaas from the Bay of Bengal was seen in Mau District also. There was heavy rain throughout the day on Thursday and Friday i.e. 27 and 28 May 2021. Because of this, where the weather remained completely pleasant, people stayed in the houses due to the lockdown. Fewer people were seen on the streets. On the other hand, the administration is in full alert mode regarding Yaas storm in Mau District. The administration has started monitoring by constituting a team of officers in every block of Mau District. The order to monitor the situations of all the tehsils was issued by District Magistrate. In addition, the electricity department team is ready to deal with the cyclone. Overall, administrative preparations have been made to deal with the storm. 

Amid of Covid 19 situation in the district administration has also released a notification to track and make alternative arrangements for the shortage of oxygen in the plant at Tajopur due to electricity. Apart from this, the food grains kept on trucks parked outside in the FCI Badhua Godown have also been secured. On Thursday, there was heavy rain since morning in all parts of the district. Due to this, the weather became very pleasant and there was a lot of relief from the heat. Due to the strong rains, there was water logging in some parts of the village area in the district. This led to problems for pedestrians, including bike drivers. 

Many people were seen enjoying the rain in Mau city also. According to the sources, the weather was colorful with heavy rain in every part of the district. The brick kiln operator suffered the most. This changing weather looked very disheartened because the rains that had taken place a week earlier had lost millions of them. Raw bricks were melted and washed away in the water, and now the heavy rain has once again put them in trouble. According to the weather department, the clouds which had been in the sky since Wednesday became denser on Thursday and Friday. 

At the same time, the winds continued to move at a slow pace. In the meantime, the showers of rain kept falling on the earth intermittently in the form of showers. Due to this, a decrease in temperature was observed in comparison to other days. This brought a lot of relief to the people.
