most prominent temple is in the middle of the village. The local people believe
that Mathi, the goddess of the village, came here after taking a long journey

Chitkul Village
This village is unique in itself. It is best to walk on foot to see Chitkul village in the valley because the roads are crooked. The village is situated in different bunches of houses at the foot of the hill, where there are narrow and steep trails that connect every house. These routes are so narrow that only one person can walk on them at a time. The biggest feature of Chitkul village is the old wooden houses which are a splendid example of the indigenous architectural style.
