Mandi
Mandi is a city in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It was formerly known as Mandava Nagar. Mandi is famous as a tourist destination. Mandi is known as “Varanasi of Hills” or “Himachal’s Kashi”.
The Mandi still contains notable examples of old palaces and ‘colonial architecture’. Mandi, the historic city of Himachal Pradesh, situated on the banks of river Beas, has also been the center of commercial activities for a long time. Situated at an altitude of 760 meters above sea level, this city is one of the fast-growing cities of Himachal.

Rewalsar Lake
Rewalsar Lake, located at a distance of 25 km from Mandi, is popular for its flowing reed islands. Seven of these islands are said to be shaken by wind and prayer. A Buddhist monastery, a Hindu temple and a Gurudwara are built here for prayer. The boating facility is provided here by these three religious organizations. It is situated in the foothills of Maa Naina Devi, and this place is also known as Triveni.

This temple is built in Nagari style. A beautiful view of the river and the surrounding areas can be seen from the temple. Here Lord Shiva is depicted as the Lord of the three worlds. The idol of Lord Shiva located in the temple is Panchanan which shows his five forms.

Bhootnath Temple
This temple situated in the middle of the Mandi was constructed in 1527. The festival of Shivaratri is celebrated here in the month of March every year.

Sundernagar, 26 km from Mandi, is famous for its temples. This place is surrounded by beautiful green valleys, tall high trees. Above the hill is the temple of Sukdev Vatika and Mahamaya where thousands of devotees visit every year. The largest hydroelectric project in Asia is part of Sundernagar itself. There is also a very beautiful lake here.

Ardhanarishwar Temple
This temple built in the seventh century is a unique piece of architecture. A beautiful statue of Lord Shiva is installed here. The statue is in the form of half a man and half a woman, which shows that the existence of both men and women is dependent on each other.

Tatta Pani
Tatta Pani means hot water. Tatta Pani is surrounded by mountains around and it is situated on the right bank of the Sutlej River. The valley in which it is located is very beautiful. Its elevation is 656 meters above sea level. Its water containing natural sulfur is considered very pure and having supernatural powers.

Barot is popular as a spectacular picnic spot. It is located on the Mandi-Pathankot highway, 65 km from Mandi. The ropeway and fishing facilities here attract tourists.

Kamrunag
Kamrunag is the most revered deity in Mandi district.It is also called the god of rain.This temple is surrounded by cedars in the high hills, every year in the month of June-July a fair is organized here.

Parashar
Parashar Lake is located 47 km north of Mandi. The reason for its popularity is a three-storey temple built here. This temple built in Pagoda style is dedicated to Saint Parashar.

Best time to travel
The best time to visit Mandi is between April to October as the weather is pleasant and perfect here. July to September is the monsoon season and there is a lot of rainfall. From October to February, the winter season in Mandi is very cold.
