Nuh
Nuh District Haryana is one of the 22 districts of the Indian state of Haryana. It comes under Faridabad Division. Historically it was known as Mewat. According to the great epic Mahabharata, this region was donated by Yudhisthira to teacher Dronacharya. During different times this place was ruled by different rulers. Finally, on April 4, 2005, Mewat emerged as a separate district on the map of the state of Haryana.
The district was formed by combining parts of Gurgaon district and Hathin block of Faridabad district. However, in 2008, Hathin sub-division was reorganized into the new district of Palwal. In 2016, the name of Mewat district was changed to Nuh, as Mewat is a cultural region that extends to the states of Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The district's administrative headquarters is located in the city of Nuh, which is 323 km from the state capital.

The district covers an area of 1,507 sq km. It shares its borders with Gurgaon, Rewari, Faridabad and Palwal districts. The district is divided into 4 sub-districts, 8 towns and 439 villages.

Population
As of the 2011 census, the population of Nuh district was 1,089,263. The sex ratio in the district is 906 females per 1000 males. Hindi is the first major language of the district.

Economy
Agriculture is the major source of income for the people of the district. Milk production is another main source of income in the district. Cities such as Punhana, Pinangwan, Ferozepur Jhirka, Taoru and Nuh are major retail shopping centers and serve as the backbone of daily life in the region. The district also has an MMTC-PAMP factory located in the Rojka-Meo industrial estate.
Education
The literacy rate of the district is 56.1%. Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College, Chandravati College of Education, Mewat Engineering College, Rao Adal Singh College of Education, S.D. Mewat Institute of Engineering and Technology, Sherawat Degree College of Education, Sri Shanti Sagar Jain Girls College of Education and Saraswati Vidya Mandir College are some of the best educational institutions in the district.

Attraction
There are some famous historical and religious tourist places to visit in the district. such as the tomb of Sheikh Musa and Nallad. The tomb of Sheikh Musa was built in the 14th century. It is a mixture of Mughal and Rajput styles. Nalhar Pandav Shiv Reservoir and Nalhar Shiv Temple are also located here. There is also a temple of Lord Shiva. Locals believe that the Pandavas stopped here and prayed to Lord Shiva. There is also a pond known as Chui Mal Ka Talab. It was built in the 19th century.

The nearest airport is the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, 63 km from Nuh. There is no rail connectivity in Nuh. The nearest railway stations are Palwal, Gurgaon and New Delhi Railway Station. District headquarters Nuh is fairly well connected by road. Nuh is about 343 km from Chandigarh by road and 77 km from ISBT, New Delhi.
Best time to visit
The climate of the district is quite similar to other North Indian places. The climate of the district is extremely hot in summer and quite cold in winter. Most of its rainfall occurs during the monsoon season. The best time to visit Noah district is February to April and October to December.
