Nuh District Haryana is one of the 22 districts of the Indian state of Haryana . It comes under Faridabad Division . Historically it was known as Mewat. According to the great epic Mahabharata, this region was donated by Yudhisthira to teacher Dronacharya. During different times this place was ruled by different rulers. Finally, on April 4, 2005, Mewat emerged as a separate district on the map of the state of Haryana.  The district was formed by combining parts of Gurgaon district and Hathin block of Faridabad district. However, in 2008, Hathin sub-division was reorganized into the new district of Palwal. In 2016, the name of Mewat district was changed to Nuh, as Mewat is a cultural region that extends to the states of Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
