Rewari
Rewari district is one of the 22 districts of the Indian state of Haryana. It was separated from Gurgaon district on 1 November 1989 by the Haryana government. It is also part of the National Capital Region. The district headquarters is situated in the city of Rewari, also the district's largest city. Like everywhere else, Rewadi has an interesting story about its name.

The district natives believe that in the Mahabharata period, there was a king named Revat who had a daughter named Revati. Her father affectionately called her Rewa. Then he established a place and named it "Rewa Wadi" after his daughter. Since Rewa was married to Lord Krishna's elder brother Balarama, the king gave his daughter the place "Rewa-wadi" as a gift. With time, the name of Rewa-Wadi became Rewadi. It is located at a distance of 335 km from the state capital Chandigarh.

Geographically, the total area of the district is 1,594 sq km. It ranks 13th in the state and 537th in India by area. The district is divided into 3 sub-districts namely Kosli, Bawal and Dharuhera. In addition, it includes 9 towns and 403 villages. Rewadi, Kosli, Bawal, Palhawas and Nahar are the tehsils of the district.
Population
As of 2011 census, Rewadi district had a population of 900,332. The sex ratio in Rewari is 898 females for every 1000 males. The dominant language of the district is Hindi.

Economy
Economically, industries are the major income source for the district's people. Rewadi is famous for its metal works. It is the center of brass in India. The main crops grown here are pulses, maize, guar, wheat, gram and mustard.

Education
In terms of education, the literacy rate in the district is 80.99% as per the 2011 census. The district has many recognized universities, degree colleges, B.Ed. There are colleges. The main institutions are Government Higher Secondary School, Hindu High School, Ahir College, Kishanlal Public College, Shishu Shala and Kendriya Vidyalaya.

Tourism
The district is home to many famous historical and religious tourist spots. These places are Lal Masjid , Bagh Wala Talab, Bada Talab, Ghanteshwar Temple, Bhagwat Bhakti Ashram. The Lal Masjid was built in 1570 by the Mughal Emperor Akbar.

The garden pond was constructed by Ram Ahir, son of Rao Gujjarmal. It currently has no water. Bada Talab is also called Rao Tej Singh Talab after Rao Tej Singh. It was built by Rao Tej Singh during the period 1810-1815. It is located close to the old Town Hall. Baba Bheron Nath Temple in Khol, Swami Sharananand Temple in Darauli, Baba Purshotam Das Ashram in Balwari village, Baba Raghunath Temple in Sangwari village and Baba Mohan Das Temple in Bharava village are some of the other important places of interest.
How to reach Rewari
The distance from Delhi Sarai Kale Khan ISBT to Rewari is about 95 km from National Highway No. 48. Buses are available from Delhi Sarai Kale Khan ISBT to Rewari every 15 minutes via Gurgaon. Rewadi Junction is connected to a good railway network. Ranikhet, Ajmer Shatabdi, Porbandar Express, Ashram Express are some of the trains that stop at this junction.
